This is the first book I have ever read from Staci Hart but I will let you know it will not be the last.

Sam the sexy as sin bass player has it all looks, charm and any woman he wants. He is a Player in every sense of the word. He never gets serious or has relationships.

Val is a gifted trumpet player. She sees herself as awkward, curvy and not what most men want. Val and Sam both work on Broadway, yes they are member of an orchestra pit for a Broadway play. Sam's "best friend" bets Sam that he cannot date Val for a solid month and if Sam cannot complete his side of the wager, the "best friend" has his own plans in store for her . In order to protect Val, Sam decides to take on the bet, but the events that happen challenge Sam and everything he has ever believed. Staci has two who on paper seem as opposite as people can be , but they have more things in common and likes than anyone they have ever met. Oh can Val ever get past his walls or will his heart end up being played by the woman who only wants to love him.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
